The Albion in Shoreditch has installed a system called Baker Tweet, which has a control panel with a switch for staff to press as they remove batches from the oven. Locals can then get the updates via the twitter name @albionsoven, and signed up figure (followers) is just about to reach 400. Peter Prescott, one of the owners of the firm, said: “We have been amazed by the response.”



Andrew Zolty from Poke, developers of the Baker Tweet system, said he hoped it would change people’s perceptions of Twitter. “We wanted to show it can be used for more serious applications,” he added.
